Boomkat Product Review: 'Radio Rothko' is an exceptional studio mix of dub techno classics, past and present from Deadbeat. With a palette of 19 tracks the Canadian producer patiently nurtures a sublime blend of efficient techno minimalism, following in the tradition of classic mix CDs like Scion's 'Arrange & Process Basic Channel' or Richie Hawtin's 'DE9'. His attention to detail is way above and beyond what you'd expect from a mix nowadays, in a time when every DJ and his mate's dog has a mix on soundcloud. It's very easy to tell that this has been inched together, with each selection gradually developing a context for the next two tracks and so on. The groove is set with Various Artists (aka T++) on 'No.3 (Debit)' into Deepchord's gorgeous 'Grandbend', through to the Basic Channel's 'Quadrant Dub' and the cavernous reverbs of Pendle Coven's 'Exigen'.
